"View the Mediterranean through a
snowy window"
If a question such as “what do
you know of the Mediterranean” was asked we would all
answer in exactly the same way: “Sun, sea and sand”.
However, there is another answer; “Cold, snow and
skiing”. This is the Mediterranean’s late discovery, the
future of winter tourism lies in the hands of the the
West Taurus Mountain with its snow-clad peaks
overshadowed by the sandy beaches. Saklikent has become
a popular skiing resort with rich, local tourists and is
set upon the Bey Mountains, which is on the western
stretch of the Taurus. Apart from its winter season, it
provides a unique spot for highland tourism. Thus, the
Mediterranean can provide a cool refuge for those tired
of sun and beaches. |
